The Child Clinician Network

What is it

The Child Clinician Network is a free, collaborative email network.  It is an intentionally simple format, a shared email group through which members can communicate openly with one another.  Emails sent to the group are received by everyone, creating a space for ongoing conversation, support and the sharing of useful resources.

Everyone is Welcome

The Child Clinician Network is open to all clinicians working with children including psychotherapists, counsellors, psychologists, and family therapists.  It is hoped that this can become a real community where we can think together about our work with children; sharing approaches, reflecting on best practice and learning from one another across disciplines.

We are all doing the same work

All of us share a passion and a drive to work with and improve the mental health of children, families and young people and I think that a vital tool in doing that is having a place where we can all think together.  Each of us has our ways of communicating with smaller groups within our trainings and disciplines, but this would be a place to be part of a much wider group.

Rules

For the moment there are just two rules (this is a new project so things might need to be tweaked as we go along):

We treat everyone with respect – This does not mean agreeing, signing up to one opinion, but that behind the disagreements is a willingness to think about other perspectives and treat those with dignity. It would mean no attacks either on individuals or groups.

No Spam – Everyone is very welcome to announce things they are doing, share resources, etc, but not to let the list descend into a spam machine that gives us more emails to delete. Anything that is shared should be important and relevant and the reason for sharing it should be shared with the group.  

Open to Anyone Working Clinically with Children and Families  – Anyone doing clinical work with children and families  is welcome but you must be either a clinician and or training.
