Kathy Manners

Kathy is an integrative child psychotherapist with over ten years of experience of working with children, teenagers, families, and parents.

Kathy has worked in a variety of contexts including Place2Be, Kids Company, Monroe Family Assessment Service, a division of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and Roots and Shoots, a Training Charity. She worked for 9 years as the school psychotherapist at a school for students (aged 10-19) with learning and behavioural difficulties. She worked for over two years as a Perinatal Psychotherapist at NELFT NHS for mothers and families before and after birth.

Kathy works with what is in the room and at the pace that best suits the young person. Her aim is to create a safe, non-judgemental space, being alongside the individual’s experience, for an opportunity to explore their concerns and access the thinking and support they need. With younger children, Kathy uses whatever creative medium a child feels comfortable with to communicate, including play especially when it may not be easy to express feelings verbally. Kathy has extensive experience of helping people of all cultural and ethnic origins, religious beliefs, and sexual orientation. As well as private practice, Kathy works as the school counsellor for a local secondary school.
