Rob Tandy

Dr Rob Tandy is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialised in General Adult Psychiatry and Medical Psychotherapy and a member of the Royal college of psychiatrists. He is also a Psychoanalyst, trained at the Institute of Psychoanalysis an a member of the British Psychoanalytical Society. He has also completed the EMDR training for trauma therapy.
He is on the GMC specialist register and is also a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the UKCP.

Prior to moving into private practice he worked in the NHS for twenty years, holding the position of Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, a centre specialising in the use of talking therapies to treat complex psychological problems.
He worked in the Adult Department at the Tavistock Clinic as Head of both the Psychoanalytic Treatment Unit, and the Fitzjohns unit, as well as at the City & Hackney Primary Care Psychotherapy Consultation Service. He also trained at the Cassel Hospital and provided the adult psychiatric input to the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea’s Parenting Assessment Team.

He practises independently in London as a psychodynamically-oriented Adult Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst. He is experienced in a talking treatments for a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, relationship and personality difficulties, trauma and psychosomatic conditions.
