Ryan Lowe

Consultant Child, Adolescent and Family Psychotherapist

MA, Mpsych psych, ACP, UKCP

Ryan Lowe

Ryan has a relational way of working; she works hard to understand her clients and to work alongside them to understand and explore the issues that they bring to therapy. She uses her analytic training to think carefully and in depth about her client’s, helping them to explore their own thoughts and feelings, their relationships with family and friends and trying to uncover the unconscious dynamics which are getting in the way of healthy functioning.

Ryan has worked as a qualified child psychotherapist for the past 18.  She trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust.  During her training she worked at the Mulberry Bush Day Unit, a school for children with complex needs as well as in the Adolescent Department of the Tavistock.  After qualifying she worked for three years at the Monroe Family Assessment Centre, a division of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust which carries out expert witness assessments for the family law courts.  She was a core tutor for Terapia Child Psychotherapy Training for eight years and following this she worked as an examiner and chair of the viva panel for the training.  For the past 10 years she has been working privately as a clinician, a supervisor and as an expert witness.  In 2012 Ryan founded The Therapeutic Consultants, of which she is now the clinical director.
