Stephanie Shah

Stephanie Shah is a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist who trained at the Institute for the Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE), London. She works with a variety of issues and approaches each child, young person and their family with curiosity and empathy. She is passionate about working collaboratively with children, young people and their family to establish the root cause of the presenting issue, promote and build on current strengths, and offer a therapeutic lens through which to move forward. From the outset, she is looking at ways to create a safe and individually tailored environment using creative therapies such as sand tray and play and is equally comfortable with clients who prefer to simply talk.

Stephanie has worked in a number of settings as a therapist including secondary schools, private practice, and with an adoption and fostering agency.

Prior to her training at IATE, Stephanie worked for 8 years as an Occupational Therapist in a Tier 4 Adolescent Psychiatric Unit. This involved using many approaches including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and joining family therapy teams.
